Here’s a current bit of mind puke.
Gravity Blankets – A weighted blanket designed to improve sleep quality and mood. It helps anxiety and restlessness with the gentle feeling of a hug. There are a number of other claims, but you get the idea. They range in price from $25 – $350. To determine proper blanket weight, calculate 10% of the user’s body weight (give or take).
My personal experience – They blow. I purchased two because I thought more weight would improve the experience. It did not. I felt like there was someone on top of me and I didn’t want there to be. To me dead weight does not feel like a gentle hug, more like a dead body. I might use it if there’s a tornado warning, but that is about it.
I’m sure the gravity blanket helps a lot of people. So don’t let my negative review dissuade you from further research and maybe eventual purchase. Good damn luck!
Current quote in my head:
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
