Tabula Rasa

Tabula rasa roughly translates to “clean slate”. I love the concept but wonder about the reality of the phase. Pushing the reset button is necessity for us all. But when we execute, the experience is a warm boot (partial reset) as opposed to a cold boot (full reset), meaning you maintain baggage throughout your life. No problem here unless you let it be. This is for learning purposes I think. I have  more detail about this but I’m having trouble with being open and getting along in general.

Sorry.

  1. I liked this piece very much. The concept of “cold reboot” and “warm reboot”… I work in the Silicon Valley and one of my responsibilities is all of IT for the company. Neither I nor anyone I know in technology have ever heard of these terms. Do these come perhaps from psychology or some other field and are meant to be symbolic? These terms do not exit in technology in the Silicon Valley, so I’m curious to where come from. Between myself and my team we have over 130 years of experience. Age 25 to my age. These terms do not exist in technology. (Sometimes the press or people who write for Wikipedia make things up. I am often surprised. )These terms make absolute sense and work well in your piece, but in reality these terms do not actually exist in technology. As I said, I like the piece a lot. (Maybe I’ll have to introduce these terms to the Silicon Valley. Wink. 🙂 ) Have a great day. Nice piece.
